Florida Center for Theological Studies (FCTS) has provided theological education in Florida for twenty-five years. Beginning with the Fall 2010 semester, we will journey to St. Thomas University (STU) to join their new venture in theological education. We encourage you to consider joining us at The Ecumenical Institute in the School of Theology and Ministry at St. Thomas University and the inauguration of St. Thomas’ Master of Divinity degree program.

Potential Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degree program students at STU should contact Acting Dean Mercedes Iannone, miannone@stu.edu or 305-628-6641.

After June 30, 2010, all inquiries of continuing FCTS students should be directed to Dean Shoaf, dshoaf@stu.edu. Additionally, transcripts for all former FCTS students will be available through the registrar’s office at STU.

Thank you to the many women and men who have assisted Florida Center for Theological Studies in providing theological education these past twenty five years through multiple diploma/certificate programs as well as two graduate degree programs. By the grace of God, we have participated in the co-creation of something good, true and beautiful. Be assured, our gratitude for what has been and our hope in what will become opportunities for nurturing the preparation of leaders for today’s and tomorrow’s faith communities endures. To God be the glory!

Our mission...

FCTS's statement of purpose says: “Through commitment to Biblical faith, a systematic study of the Bible, and scholastic development, we shall seek to facilitate the process of creating Christian leaders who will be characterized by contagious faith, personal commitment, professional competence, strong leadership, religious authenticity, sensitivity to social issues, and ability to minister in multi-cultural communities. We acknowledge in all our programs that Christians need to grow 'into full maturity in Christ.' In order to fulfill this goal, students need to develop pastoral, research, organizational, analytical, and articulation skills. For this reason, we shall incorporate in our curricula those disciplines needed for both academic and professional competence and personal growth."
